In November 2025, the Los Angeles Times announced in a splashy press release that it had recruited the conservative journalist Catherine Herridge, formerly of Fox News and CBS News, to host a new weekly investigative series. In the announcement, Herridge praised the Patrick Soon-Shiong-owned newspaper for “partnering with independent journalists” and providing the resources “to follow the facts wherever they lead,” saying she was “thrilled” to partner with the outlet.
