This week, Skydance Media unveiled a flurry of leadership appointments as the David Ellison-led company readies to take control of Paramount Global, with the merger finally set to officially close Thursday. Ellison officially named Jeff Shell as president of the combined entity; RedBird’s Andy Gordon as chief operating officer; Netflix veteran Cindy Holland to lead streaming; Dana Goldberg and Josh Greenstein as co-chairs of the studio; and George Cheeks to oversee the television division, to name a few of the top posts announced.

But one key role was conspicuously absent from the press releases: the next head of CBS News
